Do you have your Sunscreen on?
I have to tell you it is pretty hot here in Florida today so let's go get something to drink. Where should we go? Do you ever find yourself asking questions like that when you are on vacation? Do you ever find yourself asking the question and then learning too late of several places that you should have gone to. Well, I have and that is why I love to tell people about the places that I have discovered, like this one, Ginny's and Jane's at the old IGA in Anna Marie Island.
I knew when I stepped in the door and saw this that I was in for a treat. It wasn't just a great gift shop it was a funky fun shop and I would have loved to have purchased several things there. There were great Coastal furnishings and decor, artwork, cool gifts a bakery and an internet cafe. Nicely packaged don't ya think?
Hubby wants me to get a bathing suit like this one. I will have to say that her hair looks better than mine after I come out of the water.
This is Marcia, the store manager. When I asked her to stand by her favorite thing in the shop she ran over and stood up on the couch by this great picture.
Mona Lisa gone Coastal!

Looks like a great shop!! I have been out of town for a lil bit so I missed your last post, what a great buy, it would look great as a head/foot board but the garage project is stunning, now where will that garage be, at your cottage in Alabama, wherever it is it's going to be so pretty!

ReplyDeleteI also live in Tampa Bay, Florida, but have never been to Anna Marie Island. Now I know where to go for some fun shopping as soon as this weather cools off.

Hopefully someday I'll be able to make it to Florida!! That shop looks adorable!
ReplyDeleteI love Ana Maria Island!!! It certainly has changed over the years.
ReplyDeleteGinny's and Jane E's is so cute! Guess there is another road trip in the making...
Would you believe that my daddy had a grand adventure off that island? When he was 12, he and his buddy left on their little boat and did not return for 3 days...they were caught in a storm and found a small atoll on which to wait it out. When they returned, is was like the return of the prodigal son...until the punishment began!!! The old homestead is long gone...washed away by a long-ago hurricane.

Thanks for taking this Ozarks farm chick out of the hills and to the beach. Love the water and I also enjoyed my walk through your beautiful blog. God bless your summer day!
ReplyDeleteVery cute post. Love it! Hugs, Cindy S
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun place!!
ReplyDeleteLOL about your comment on *helping* each other...I think we would just trade "junque" and then where would I be?! It really is the hardest part of this whole business thing...managing the inventory. I'm not sure there is a solution, esp. if I'm going to have sales at my home. Don't know...
Have a good evening and that picture on the other blog of your baby daughter is just precious!

I havent been to Anna Maria Island in yrs. It was beautiful tho when I was there. I had friends who lived on the island. They have since moved to Bradenton. But I never forgot that place. How lucky that you can be there.
