I promise that I didn't stay parked by the pool all of this time. I have been a busy girl.
I am in a great shop in South Tampa called Summer House and so my days are filled with at least one metamorphosis or two. This headboard is just an example of what I have been doing. I realize that not everybody is going to be thrilled that I painted this Antique East Lake Bed but as you can see that didn't stop me. And with hubby out of town I was feeling just a bit blue and this was the result.
Then hubby came home and he is my sanding expert. He doesn't like to leave anything looking new and Pottery Barn looking. Give it some character, he says. And being the character that he is, here you have it.
Oops....I wasn't going to show you how we made that pier mirror yet.
I will save that for next Met. Monday.

The bed turned out beautifully! Your hubster is a sanding expert.:)
Hi Becky! Just found your lovely blog! The bed turned out amazing...love the color and the "character" too!!

It looks Great Becky, I know some people don't like things painted. When I see something at a estate sale or where ever, I tell the person boy would that would look god painted, but then they don't want to sell it to me. I keep my mouth shut now If I like something I want and paint it. What do they care any ways.
Enjoy your Day-
Ok I meant GOOD not God. What a mistake that was. LOL I'm sure if people read this they would probably say what the heck is this girl taking about.
Hi Becky,
Are you talking San Ramon California ??????? I live right by there...20 minutes !!!!!! Let me know ASAP !!!!!!! We have to get together !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hugs,
Mo :-)
I love that headboard. The blue you painted it is just perfect.
Hi Becky!
I love the blue...but I must be a
"Pottery Barn" or "Maine Cottage" kind of girl. I liked it before distressing. But then again...I am a color person. However...Mr D did a great job with the distressing job. He is quite good! You make a good team!!! (in more ways than 1)
Back to painting....

Hi Becky!
Love that piece and the color is so dreamy. I'm with you and your hubby, don't care for the Pottery Barn look either, time worn and time loved here!
What part of Wine Country? I will send you a list, I'm off for my morning walk and will check back. If you're going to Healdsburg, you can always call Cathleen, she's open by appointment also and will open her barn to you if she's available, here's her # (707) 433-3823. If you're going to Sonoma, I've got a dreamy store and restaurant too... Let me know, you're going to love it!
Talk soon xo~Tracie
Me again (the walk was beautiful!)
Here's a great website for Sonoma
http://www.sonomavalley.com/index.php/Table/shopping/
Chateau Sonoma has gorgeous items from France, it's worth it to see the beautiful courtyard out back. $$$ though, but eye candy!
If you're looking for lunch/dinner The Girl and the Fig is fantastic (bistro fare). Both of these places are on the link above. There are tons of cute shops in Sonoma right by Chateau Sonoma just lined down the street.
If you go to Healdsburg, stop by Country Daisy Florist & Home (Healdsburg Avenue), Barbara has darling items that are reasonable & one of a kind. Cena Luna is my favorite restaurant around in Hbg (www.cenaluna.com) they are open for dinner and are fantastic 707.433.6000, can't say enough about them ;) If you want a great bakery, Downtown Bakery for bistro style breakfast, tomato foccacia (perfect!), passion fruit tartlets, homemade ice cream & freezes - small town and great iced mochas (Downtown Bakery doesn't take ccards though... cash or checks - go prepared as you will want it all ;)
I think that's it for now, send me an email if you need more info ~ Tracie@mypetitemaison.com
Happy day and have fun :)

After thought...
Ledson Winery in Sonoma is one of the most gorgeous around, here's their link to the marketplace (more eye candy)

That bed is a find! I've missed *chatting* with ya...my life is going to start slowing down. How about yours?

Looks lovely! Your home is so beautiful!
Thank you so much for stopping by today, that gave me the chance to stop here and now I have another blog to follow because it's fabulous!!
That house colour in the above post is wonderful, a perfectly charming colour for a sweet little cottage! And I love what you did with that old Eastlake headboard, it's just gorgeous, and I'm totally in love with the chair with the plant, it just speaks to me (or maybe it's speaking to the other 500 similar chairs in our house because I love them so!)
Have a great afternoon!
