My Brother's Table for Tablescape Thursday

Stepping inside of Ivy's Porch in Scotts Valley CA I found some darling ideas for a Halloween Table. I like cute things for Halloween myself. I don't need Scary! Having a big brother who terrorized me as a child, I grew up with arms coming from under my bed almost on a weekly basis. He thrilled in telling us to get something from the basement and then would lock the door and turn out the lights and growl. I remember one Halloween as we walked next door to our neighbors house to Trick or Treat he screamed and yelled and told us to run quickly home. My poor little sister who was dressed as a ghost started to run and scream and cry and her eye holes slipped and she ran right in to a telephone pole and knocked herself out. . So I like safe and cute! I grew up on SCARY! He had a name and a face! But my guess is, that if my Brother had a tablescape he would have it decorated just like this one.
And as I settled down to sleep in his guest room, that arm would come up from under the bed!!
Oh great....I hope I don't have nightmares now!

And if you are reading this Brother dear, don't get any ideas. I learned to sleep with one eye open!

  7. My brother was just like that! We would stay up late on the week ends and watch scary movies and then he would scare me whenever I went to sleep! I don't watch scary movies now!

  10. LOL! Poor little sister getting knocked out. Yikes. I have to confess I would grab my older sisters legs from under their bed when they came home from dates :0)
    I prefer cute to scary...

  13. Cute and imaginative table --but I'm with you ... I like Halloween cute and fun-scary, not real scary. Maybe because I had two big brothers!

  16. What a fun TT with the Halloween theme! I had a brother just like yours & I HATE being scared by surprises. I've never done a Haunted House tour or anything like that.

Your table looks really cute, though. :D

  17. That is so funny about your brother - If anybody had basements those were the worst, now I have to say my brother would shut off the lights in the basement and then run upstairs, and that was always a frightening experience. If he ever shut the door I would of died right there... because the furnace monsters would of got my sister and I. I certainly enjoyed your story Becky- you really brought some memories back!

Hey girl thanks for dropping by, it's always nice hearing from you.

    Big Hugs-
