Getting Ready for Pilgrimage

It's been called, " The prettiest little town in the South," and at Pilgrimage time each year in Eufaula, AL one could never argue that fact.   The Shabby Old House got a fresh coat of paint and some new flowers for the pots.
Each evening hubby had to scrub off layers of paint from his hands and feet.  Yes, I did say feet.  lol
And because of scheduling conflicts for so many years in a row we had to once again pass on a chance to paint our door the color of the rockers.   All homes in the historical district must have an approval before any changes get made.  Perhaps next year we will make it before the approval committee.
But until then these are the only changes we can make and I must say I loved how the color livened up our front porch,

to welcome our out of town guests for the 47th Annual Pilgrimage.
I love this time of year.   I get to dress up!
This is the Petry-Honan house on Cherry St where I have volunteered for the last two years.
I hope that if you ever get the chance that you will come for a visit.
We just may open our home for the Christmas tour of homes.  That is,  if I can get the Shabby Old House ready in time.

How pretty you look in your blue dress! I'd love to come for the pilgrimage. How far away is your town from Franklin, TN? Blessings to you and your husband!

I love your house and your dress! What fun! It's a shame you can't paint the door the pink you want = pink is such a Victorian color.

Your porch is beautiful! So inviting. That is the color of my front door. Love how you painted the chairs and the porch swing. So pretty. Have fun!

Hi Kay,
I am not sure about where Franklin TN is but my daughter will be in Clarksville and we figured it to be 6 hours from Eufaula. Just a short day trip.

"Oh Becky!
You look so so darlin' in that lovely civil war era gown," she says with her best southern drawl.
Maybe the committee would approve a lighter shade of pink, even tho your shade is perfection. Those historic neighborhoods can be quite picky, but I do believe many Victorians were in fact painted PINK!!
I hope you have so much fun!!

What a pretty dress! I was asked to walk in the Historical parade last year as I was someone the right size to wear a dress they had available. It was so much fun!

I found you via a photo on Pinterest and have been looking to see if I can find the post but haven't yet. I am wondering if you might be able to direct me to it. It was a picture of a garden area with several old architectural elements in it. Would love to see the rest of the garden!!
