And my blog is about the restoration of that house but the photos below are what lead us to buying a home in Eufaula AL
While on a road trip we discovered a wonderful town in Alabama. We fell in love with the town of Eufaula. So much so that we started to look at houses in the town. This is the home that we almost bought.
It was completely renovated.
Highland View. It actually is for sale today.
This lovely home has been totally restored and the grounds are so beautiful.
Stepping into the dining room you will see why this home was one that was chosed to be on the Pilgrimage Tour of Homes.
The pocket doors were stunning. The Antiques were beautiful.
This picture was used in the flyer for the Pilgrimage Tour.
Unfortunatley the picture was dark but still try to see the beauty of this room
This is the rose surrounded pool...ahh I just wanted to jump in.
This is the family room.

This is a strange window that you actually had to raise the window to step out onto a very special porch.
Up the stairs there was a library on the landing.
This is one of three bedrooms.
Another picture of the beautiful stairs.
Nice bathrooms.

Are you ready for the tour.
Let me know your favorites.
Have a great day

I'm *swooning* over those pocket doors. Gorgeous! The whole home is lovely. Really like the stairs. And I got a kick out of the window you have to open to step out onto the porch!

I'm going to have to check out the rest of your blog, because you're living my dream of restoring an old home.
This one is beautiful! The windows you have to lift are so cute and I love all the fireplaces, but the staircase gave me palpitations! LOL
Thank you for the lovely tour :)

Becky, you had me swooning at the thought of saying, "upstairs in the library". I want to tell you that you have done amazing work, but I also know that the truth is that I know that I really have no idea how many hours and DAYS you have invested with exhausting labor. The results look great--thank you for sharing them. It's always a great motivation to keep on with our own house project.

Oh - those plantation shutters in the bedroom are to die for! What a fun house, we, like everyone else love that entrance to the porch - kids would sure get a kick out of it....as well as the big kids, we'd imagine!!

The staircase was probably my favorite thing about this house, or the pocket doors, or the pool, or the...
Thanks for sharing such a fabulous house!!
LOL!!!
I'd gladly live in the garage of my tour house!!!
Blessings on your weekend,
Jan
Wow I love those pocket doors ! The whole house is divine .
Hi Becky,
The house you almost bought is beautiful - I love the pocket doors, they remind me of my grandparent's house. I have to say, I like your house better. I love all that gingerbread and that porch. Your house is just so sweet looking. If someone told me I could have either one of them right now, I would pick the house you're putting all of that work into - honest. There's something about a house that's been rescued and really loved.
Happy weekend

Hi Becky,
I haven't been around much, but have been thinking about you a lot! I hope things are going well in your little corner of the world.
I have to say that this house is beautiful, but I would choose your shabby old cottage any day. It has the sweetness of home and so much darling character.
Have a wonderfully blessed weekend.
Any thing fun going on?

Becky this post is so interesting. First your home is lovely and I know why you love living there. The house for sale is a wonderful home and is so nicely renovated. I enlarged every photo and the detail is awesome.
Thank you for sharing this home today.

We past through this town on the way to Florida a few years ago. They were restoring an old victorian gothic style mansion on the main road, it was my favorite house. I swear, this town is one of the coolest towns I've ever seen!
oooh I'm swooning with Julia, I would die for your Victorian house, I love the porch and the cladding
gorgeous house tour, really enjoyed my visit here
oh and my camera is a regular old point and shoot and about 3 yrs old, a Canon, I love it! I've considered buying a new whizzbang one but to be honest I don't think I'd even get the time to read the instruction booklet...

Hi Becky , Thanks for visiting my blog - we're kindred spirits in the old house department. My husband is a construction contractor so we have completely remodeled 5 homes , built a new Victorian and are waiting for the market to change to build a Southern style home here in Rainy ol' Oregon. I wish I could buy every old home I see with charactor and give it a redo. Sue
Hello Becky!
